The Debi and Gary Fournier Cervical Cancer Research Fund

Gary Fournier manages in excess of $1 billion in client assets in his role as managing director with JP Morgan in Los Angeles. A supporter of a number of charitable causes, Mr. Fournier has joined with his wife in forming the Debi and Gary Fournier Cervical Cancer Research Fund.

In partnership with the Jonsson Center Cancer Foundation at UCLA, the Debi and Gary Fournier Cervical Cancer Research Fund works to benefit the more than 500,000 women each year who receive a cervical cancer diagnosis. The fund, which was established following Mrs. Fournier’s 2011 diagnosis with cervical cancer, supports research at the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center/Translational Oncology Research Lab.

Currently, the Fourniers’ fund is helping the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center/Translational Oncology Research Lab to study cancer cell lines in an effort to foster a deeper understanding of the disease. In the future, and with the fund’s financial assistance, UCLA researchers plan to use the findings to create tailored treatment rationales.

The fund is accepting donations from the public to support these efforts and, as of January 1, 2018, has raised over $37,000 toward its goal of $250,000. To learn more about the fund, as well as to make a donation, please visit Cancer.UCLA.edu.
