Based in Los Angeles, California, Gary Fournier is a managing director at JP Morgan who has ranked among Barron’s list of the Top 1,200 financial advisors in the United States. An active philanthropist, Gary Fournier has contributed to several local organizations, such as the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC).
For nearly three decades, PVPLC has worked diligently to protect more than 1,500 acres of land along the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Under the stewardship of the organization, this space serves as an arena in which visitors of all ages can learn about the local ecosystem. One of the ways that PVPLC fosters this education is through its nature walk events, which give participants a closer look at the peninsula.
PVPLC’s Guided Nature Walks have attracted thousands of visitors over the years. Each month, volunteer guides bring visitors to different parts of the peninsula and educate them about the flora and fauna that make their home in each area. These leisurely walks are free of charge for all participants.
Through its George F. Canyon Nature Center, PVPLC also offers a number of hikes in the Rolling Hills Estates area. Those who are looking to learn information and folktales about the local ecosystem are welcome to participate in one of the Center’s First Saturday Hikes. For a more thrilling experience, visitors may reserve a spot on one of the Full Moon Hikes. Held on a monthly basis, these excursions take participants on a two-mile route through and atop the canyon at night time.
